Unlimited transfers
As Germany prepare to take on Spain at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna, you have an unlimited number of free transfers at your disposal to make before the final. So start thinking now and give yourself the time you need to select the players who will make a difference on Sunday evening. With only two teams left in the competition, you can now pick your twelve players from a single team if you wish to. If you are sure you know who is going to win the final, you may be tempted to pick all or most of your players from that team. Players from the winning team are more likely to score points for your fantasy football team. But remember that even if the team you think will win does prevail, players from the other team can also score well if they score goals or provide assists. You may also prefer to have a mix of Germany and Spain players, in case the final result does not go the way you think it will.
Villa ruled out
Not surprisingly, Germany and Spain players have been popular with fantasy football managers throughout the tournament. One of the most popular, the tournament's top scorer Spain striker David Villa, however, has been ruled out of the final with muscle strain. Take a look at the game statistics before you pick your team. Spain midfielder Cesc Fàbregas has scored a high number of points during the tournament and is likely to feature in many fantasy football teams. Three German players have also scored exceptionally well throughout the tournament: defender Philipp Lahm, midfielder Michael Ballack and forward Lukas Podolski. For more statistical information about the players involved in the final, visit the fantasy football site's statistics page and use the player filters menu on the right of the page to find information. If you would like more information also explore the detailed statistics available in euro2008.com's statistics section.
